VERY LIMITED EDITIONS is a business experiment in curating, creating, and releasing exclusive spirit expressions. First, we find interesting barrels. We then create a release concept that we think is interesting and fun. Finally, we organize, promote, and launch the release event.
We have completed a half dozen releases consisting only of Single Barrel, Cask Strength Kentucky bourbons and ryes. Our release events have been fun and have benefited our distillery partners by promoting the distillery and drawing people to the distillery for a good time.
We will expand our bourbon and rye offerings through new distillery partnerships.

NOVEMBER 2025
El Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a day of celebration, particularly for the people in Mexico and Central America, and for many Mexican Americans in the United States. It is a day to honor and commemorate the lives of the dearly departed and to welcome the return of their spirits.
We used the iconic imagery to create this series.

DECEMBER 2024
For the holidays, we created the JOY series. The idea here was to have a great single barrel, cask strength releases that looked festive for the holidays and a wonderful purchase for your shelf. This release came in a bright gold gift bag, so the idea was to buy a set for yourself and then buy a set as a gift. Spread a little Joy. Happy Holidays!

OCTOBER 2024
This release came out around Halloween, so Monsters. The inspiration came from 1950s monster movie posters. We went big with color and monsters, but not too scary.

AUGUST 2024
This release was scheduled for July, but we were on vacation, so it came out in August. Still a big hit.
We used two famous paintings as inspiration for these releases: Washington Crossing the Delaware by Emanuel Leutze and a wood engraving of Nathan Hale receiving instructions from George Washington, based on a painting by Howard Pyle. Look closely, and you might see a tiny bottle of bourbon in the boat and on the table. The label's background is the Constitution.
The single barrel, cask strength bourbon and rye we picked for this release is from Boone County Distilling, located in Independence, Kentucky.

JUNE 2024
This release was a play on the Pop Art movement of the 1950s. Pop Art was an art movement of the 1950s to the 1970s. Pop artists are so-called because of their use of imagery from popular culture. Pop Art's unique style features vivid colors, consumerist imagery, playful techniques, repetition, and social critique. Pop Art also fuses high and low-brow art, celebrity spotlight, bold typography, and cultural introspection. It reshaped art and reflected society in a vibrant, accessible manner.
Roy Lichtenstein stands as a crucial reference point for Pop Art artists through his exploration of the mechanics of printed imagery. This release plays on his comic-strip style.
Lichtenstein’s signature style of bold outlines, flat color, and Ben-Day dots was deliberately impersonal, mimicking the look of mechanical reproduction while being painstakingly hand-painted. His comic-strip scenes were enlarged, flattened, and paused mid-action, giving throwaway imagery a new sense of weight and permanence.
We followed the comic-book style using images of couples, mid-action, in some sort of conflict. We added silly bourbon-related dialogue in the word bubbles.

MAY 2024
For this fun release, we took inspiration from early Pin-Up advertising illustrators. Pin-up illustrators created idealized, glamorous, and often playful portraits of “Bombshell” women, peaking in popularity from the 1920s to the 1950s. Famous artists include Gil Elvgren, Alberto Vargas, and George Petty, who defined the "dream girl" aesthetic for calendars, magazines, and advertisements, often using oil paintings enhanced with bright, idealized colors.
